Sometimes I have slept for up to 48 hours like nothing. It was like I hadn’t ever slept and I just woke up to use the bathroom and went back to bed. I am on meds for my illnesses but I don’t know what’s causing all this weird fatigue. Even when I’m woken up I speak and open my eyes but I never remember it. People swear I’m awake but I’m not. I don’t know what this is. Any ideas? Have you ever felt this way?

I have illnesses that cause fatigue too, but I’ve never slept for 48 hours. When was the last time you had a blood test done? If it’s been 3 months then you may need it tested again. A couple things that come to mind is possibly thyroid problems or anemia. The weather can affect fatigue. Like when a storm is blowing in. I know I am so much more tired and listless during the winter months when the weather changes often.

Foods from stores contain chemicals. MSG is in almost all canned foods.

ther is a differenc ebetween REAL FMS and chemical intoxification andnutrient defiency

ALL 3 exist…..

just because some people have pain and fatigue from MSG or chemicals doesn’t mean tehy have fibromyalgia….

if the MSG theory were true–more people with be sick

there is a rumor about nutrasweet being teh cause of fibro–i never had nutrasweet–yet i have fibro

there are 2 types

REAL fibro
FAKE fibro

among the subtypes of teh fake–are teh attention seekinghypochonriacs and lazy people….as well as peoiple who really have something else such as lymes, arhritis, etc.

i have had REAL fms for over 30 years….i worked at least full time–if not over time–including volunteer work until last year when i experienced a major decline….i do also have a couple otehr conditions that complicate it….

when it started i was a child–i couldn’t keep up with my peers..at times it hurt to breathe and i felt like i was suffocating…i was very uncoordinated….

in my teens i was in excrutiating pain–i would press my leg against the heater trying to relive teh pain…

when i moved into my own place–i told teh neighbors not to call teh police if tehy heard me screaming at night–i was just in pain and tehre wasnithing taht could be done

i had FMS alone for about 12 years without any other chronic helath problems

so yes it is real–but it ishighly overdiagnised..

most docs are incompetant and are teh cause of teh problem–they label any pain–even if due to lifestyle choices or another condition as FMS

i know a diagnosiable hypochndriac taht has iot–as well as someoen who was trying to collect SSDI–while working in child care…..

i have heard many people on here say it is autoimmune or what theya re taking fro inflammation–

it is NOT beleived to be autoimmune–tehre is NO inflammtion–those people are most likely misdiagnosed

i say a couple say they were diagnosed with thyroid and fms on the same day–that in not possible–you have to manage th ethyroid 1st before you can consider teh fms diagnosis…thyroid casues paion and fatigue.

i have seen MANY people on her say they were initially diagnosed with FMS…butt han dound out tehy had thyroid or MS or lymes, etc…..most likely they nver had fms

many docs call teh pain of lymse –fms
or the pain of arthrist is fms–that is MALPRACTICE

they are starting to find irregularities in objective tests..hopefully they will be able to show who really has it and who doesn’t

i am 99% sure i really ahve it–i know i have something–i just cna’t be 100% sure it is fms

unfortunately most people with REAL fms do not recognize teh problem of misdiagnosis and automatically beleive everyione that says they have it–

i will not go to support groups or assocaite withotehr who claim to have it–unless i can beleive they might really have fms–

my hypochondriac friend consatntly whines about it–and i am really sick–and sick of her her bit$% when she really isn’ty sick–this woman thinks she has every disease she hears about..inlcuding cerebal palsy, autism, cancer, pnemonia, etc….

there is a difference between being tired and achy and being in such intense pain you can’t stand up or sleep..

at night i would dig my nails into my stomach trying to disctart myself from the pain in my legs

anyone who claims to ahve cured fms never had it in teh 1st place…they had a different condition such as a nutrional problem taht casued pain and fatigue

i don’t knwo why its all or nothing with people–they think it must always be true if someone says tehy have fms–or its always fake–

its both–i wouldn’t be surprised of only 10% of people claiming to have fms really do–and 90% of the tyime its the docs fault for misdiagnosisng it–teh people are really sick–just not with fms

just like ADHD–it is a real problem–but its also an excuse for misbehaving kids

my hypochondriac friend consatntly whines about it–and i am really sick–and sick of her her bit$% when she really isn’ty sick–this woman thinks she has every disease she hears about..inlcuding cerebal palsy, autism, cancer, pnemonia, etc….

there is a difference between being tired and achy and being in such intense pain you can’t stand up or sleep..

at night i would dig my nails into my stomach trying to disctart myself from the pain in my legs

anyone who claims to ahve cured fms never had it in teh 1st place…they had a different condition such as a nutrional problem taht casued pain and fatigue

i don’t knwo why its all or nothing with people–they think it must always be true if someone says tehy have fms–or its always fake–

its both–i wouldn’t be surprised of only 10% of people claiming to have fms really do–and 90% of the tyime its the docs fault for misdiagnosisng it–teh people are really sick–just not with fms

just like ADHD–it is a real problem–but its also an excuse for misbehaving kids

I have had symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome for 3 months now. I am very fatigued after any form of exertion. After a good nights sleep, I don’t feel my body is refreshed. Are there any vitamins I can take that can give me any sort of energy?

Here’s what I have for you regarding chronic fatigue"

Possible causes of chronic fatigue:

* Environmental Toxins

If you can’t find another source of fatigue, you may be suffering from exposure to indoor pollutants. The usual culprits…

- Benzene - Found in linoleum and degreasers

- Formaldehyde - Found in carpets and drapes

- Lead - Found in tap water and house paint

- Nitrogen Dioxide - Released by kerosene heaters, gas stoves and furnaces

- Mercury - Found in dental fillings and some house paints

- Trichloroethylene - Used in dry-cleaning. Have your home tested for environmental toxins.

Consider having your doctor test your blood and hair. If traces of toxins are found, add the following to your diet; Selenium, Vitamin E, Beta-carotene, Garlic and Sodium Alginate. They help rid the body of toxic metals. Cilantro and Chlorella also are very effective at removing heavy metals.

Sugar

In many cases, fatigue is the result of eating too much sugar. Sugar and refined carbohydrates make your blood sugar rise. This signals the pancreas to produce insulin. Too much insulin leads to "hypoglycemia" (low blood sugar), which causes extreme fatigue.

Nutritional Approaches

Although there is no known cure for CFS, certain nutrients in foods may help. Doctors stress the importance of a well-balanced diet.

Start with ample starches - Fruits and vegetables help to provide the carbohydrates the body needs for energy. They also supply the vitamins needed to resist infection.

Avoid alcohol - It lowers immunity, so should be avoided, and caffeinated drinks should be used in moderation to minimize sleep problems.

Eat to strengthen your immune system - Foods rich in zinc, such as seafood( especially oysters), meats, poultry, eggs, milk, beans, nuts, and whole grains, as well as foods rich in Vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, berries, melons, kiwis, broccoli, and cauliflower, may help keep the immune system working properly. A sound immune system can help ward off certain viruses, such as flu and colds that may possibly precede the onset of CFS.

Consume more fatty acids - Some of the symptoms of CFS include swollen glands and inflammation of the joints, which may be relieved temporarily by foods rich in essential fatty acids. These include fish, nuts, seeds, flaxseed and flaxseed oil, canola oil, wheat germ, and leafy green vegetables.

Take Magnesium - Fully 90-95% of us are deficient in magnesium and fatigue is one of the symptoms associated with magesium deficiency. Magnesium is also associated with the contraction and relaxation of muscles. Getting more of the mineral may help alleviate muscle tenderness in people with CFS. Good food sources include sunflower seeds, avocados, and amaranth.

Supergreen foods, widely available in powder form, couldhelp significantly. I like the Dr. Schulze formula if you can find it.

Blackstrap molasses might be good healthy addition.

To treat hormone-related fatigue, reduce your consumption of alcohol, meat and dairy products. Eat more dietary fiber and less sugar and refined foods. Take supplements of "gamma linolenic acid(GLA). GLA is found in primrose oil, borage oil and black currant seed oil. All are available at health-food stores.

Many people report increased energy when they take plant derived trace minerals, as do people who take a product called OxyGen.

Other helpful supplements include Vitamin B-15 (or Vitamin B complex), L-carnitine, Octacosanol, a wheat germ extract, and ginseng.

Finally, it may be a very good idea to take a comprehensive whole food derived nutritonal product such as intraMAX or Dr. Mercola’s Whole Food Multi-Vitamin Plus to insure that you have no deficiencies in any nutrient and get plenty of immune and energy boosting items (intraMAX contains 415 different nutrients).

Good luck!
