Sometimes I have slept for up to 48 hours like nothing. It was like I hadn’t ever slept and I just woke up to use the bathroom and went back to bed. I am on meds for my illnesses but I don’t know what’s causing all this weird fatigue. Even when I’m woken up I speak and open my eyes but I never remember it. People swear I’m awake but I’m not. I don’t know what this is. Any ideas? Have you ever felt this way?

I have illnesses that cause fatigue too, but I’ve never slept for 48 hours. When was the last time you had a blood test done? If it’s been 3 months then you may need it tested again. A couple things that come to mind is possibly thyroid problems or anemia. The weather can affect fatigue. Like when a storm is blowing in. I know I am so much more tired and listless during the winter months when the weather changes often.

My temperature is also a bit high and my throat hurts. I slept a lot last night yet all I want to do is sleep. I have a slight cough but mostly I feel fatigued and no energy. What could this be?

If those are your only symptoms, then it could be a virus but if it continues you should see your doctor. It may be best to have a blood test if your symptoms worsen.

i know depression causes fatigue. can any one give accurate answer for how it causes fatigue with accurate sources?

interesting question.

someone else asked this on yahoo and this is the best answer they got:

Several studies (see sources) have found that depression is associated with high levels of the enzyme monoamine oxidase A, or MAO-A. MAO-A destroys neurotransmitters such as serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine, which regulate mood and energy levels. With MAO-A levels being too high in depression, the levels of the neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine are abnormally low, and as a result, depressed patients feel abnormally tired.

I’m not looking for an answer like old age. My father is 88 years old and in very good shape for his age. He goes to the gym three times a week with a trainer. He just finished with a battery of tests at the cardiologist, including a stress test and ultrasound of his heart. He passed with flying colors.

His blood work said his thyroid was normal, as well as his amylase and lipaise for his pancreas were normal.

What else could be causing his fatigue? He says he feels tired and gets short of breath easily.

While his heart and lungs and other major organs may all be in great working condition, you’ve got to think: they’ve been going for 88 years! They’re starting to wear out. Now don’t let that scare you, I’m not saying his hearts just going to stop. It’s just harder for his heart and lungs to support his body for as long. This isn’t a matter of his personal fitness (Which by the way if he wasn’t fit his heart and lungs would have weakened YEARS ago) it’s just an age issue. They’re finding it harder to keep up with him now! He seems very active which is fabulous, that’s going to help him keep his heart and lungs as strong as they possibly can be for his age. He sounds like he’s doing very well in the fitness department though, he gets more exercise than me! Tell him to keep up the good work, and not be worried about it.

I have fatigue, dizziness, and lack of coordination caused by helicobacter pylori. I am going to the doctor tomorrow but what could I do and avoid in the meantime to overcome this?

How do you know those are related to H pylori? I’ve never heard of those being related. If you’re having lack of coordination, dizziness and fatigue, plus stomach issues, I would look into something like celiac disease. Loss of coordination was a major symptom I had for celiac. I thought I had MS and that’s what it turned out to be. Make sure to tell your doctor about all your symptoms and let him run tests to see what’s causing this. Good luck!

My mother has been unable to eat carbohydrates for over 20 years. She has had every test imaginable and they can’t find a cause. She gets sores and infection comming out on her legs and body within days of eating carbs. Any help given would be appreciated.

Yes, your Mother likely has an ongoing problem with excessive yeast overgrowth inside her body. This means that the yeast need sugar and high carbs to survive and feed. When they do this, they increase and give out continual toxins and overload the immune system and cause sometimes awful symptoms.

Sores, infections, fatigue, depression sound very much part of that. Sounds like a candida infection. it can become systemic and cause those symptoms and much more.

She would do well to do well to check out this link with the very helpful articles http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/index.php

You can go through them and have a good look and realise that in actual fact, some of the healthiest diet are the lowest in carbs and highest in proteins and nature made fats believe it or not. They can help heal, reduce yeast overgrowth etc.

Your Mother will of course have some other underlining problem that is making her suseptible to this occuring, but certainly it sounds like an ongoing bad case of yeast infection. It maybe IT or part of it. It may not be the real underlining problem, but the fact she reacts so badly to carbs is a pretty good indicator.

A few tests she can do is, basically check out candida symptoms online (or on an area of that link I put up for you). She can also try the water test. You get a glass of water, leave it by your bed. First thing in the morning before eating, drinking, or brushing teeth, the person spits into the glass of water. Checking on it later, if there is a yeast problem, there will usually (if you hold the glass up), strands hanging down, or the spit will have sunk to the bottom (or both) with bits floating possibly too. Healthy spit remains at the top, with candida it is typical for bits to sink, or strands like cobwebs to hang down.

But it is very hard to test for candida and really get an accurate result. Best indication is symptoms and trying the candida diet and seeing what happens. Normally when someone has a bad candida overgrowth, the diet may initially worsen all their symptoms (or add some), as this is called yeast die off. It begins to reduce and put out toxins as it dies, so it can make a person feel rather poorly or worse for a time before improvement is noted.

My friend seems to think it’s because of a lack of IONS. That’s a completely different thing! I’m pretty sure that Ion doesn’t have anything to do with it, but if i’m completely wrong, can someone explain it to me please?

Thanks in advance :)
Lack of period and fatigue is a sign of pregnancy.
lack of iron will cause fatigue, and lack of period.
Starvation can cause lack of period, anorexia
Also extreme exercise such as preparing for the Olympics.can cause periods to stop.

Meat is a good source of iron. Bread is generally fortified with iron. Dark colored vegetables have iron. Also fish, poultry, beans, fortified cereal
